Delayed but never too late for this honest review.
Such a NEGATIVE experience here
1. When arrival I had an ear infection already I asked Carlo (dive instructor) for Sudafed he said he only had one and said there are no doctors and walked away dismissive. Thx for no help.luckily there were 2 surgeons as guests that helped people on this private island with there issues. (Since you cannot leave)

2. During dinner we had a waitress just drop my plate and walk away when I asked her what this is she replied ‘YOU ordered it, YOU should know! When she came by again I asked what’s in it she said the name of the dish and rolled her eyes and walked away. Me and my partner were shocked. I then called the mark (manager) when I explained the issue to him instead of fixing the problem he sarcastically suggested I was the problem since he never had an issue with her with a condescending tone. Wooow couldn’t believe the response and still can’t but ok.

3. The same night they went around with a chart board to each table which suggest what activities to do the following day and we noticed a pattern we always got ignored and pretty much skipped our table 3 nights in a row at this point I noticed if we didn’t dive or stay at a Water Bungalow you were def not a priority!

4. As for the food it was ok dishes like beef randang was tough.they tend to give a lot of sweets throughout the day when I asked for a green salad they told me NO I said fine when they realized I was not happy already they finally said yes. I mean for the price you pay a night $1000 and above and I can’t even get healthy food ummmmm…

5. During our last night I tried to stay positive and the amazing guests organized a big table so I decided to get the ONLY wine they had which is called ‘Four cousins’ and honestly it looked like no name cheap wine but didn’t matter at the time since I just wanted to have a good time, nobody liked the taste.during the course of the night I got sick puking up the wine.

I’ve been in Raja Ampat for 6 months and had a taste of hospitality on the islands before arriving to this place and this gives me such Tourist trap vibes especially coming from NYC, maybe because the guests were older or retirees they cater to them more, oh well. Luckily I made friends with some of the guests and I found out I was not the only one that had issues with Carlo and some of the staff and they have stayed there before but the experience was not good this time around. Honestly when they suggested leaving comments on the comment card I said they probably were gonna throw it in the trash as that’s the vibe I received.

What an experience honestly me and my partner were so happy to leave this place even though it’s stunning and some of the staff like the morning staff was absolutely flawless we couldn’t wait to head down to Kri island wayyyyyyy better experience staying in a local homestay no issues there. The best diving and snorkeling, wonderful staff, very relaxing. Very tasty food and juices with ample servings of sambal.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It was one of the best vacations of our life. We just returned from Misool after spending a week there as part of a snorkeling group arranged through Snorkel Venture. The place is absolutely paradise, situated in the middle of the Coral Triangle, the most biodiverse coral reef on the planet. This eco resort is helping to both maintain and restore the coral and fish life in this area via its resort policies/programs and through its Misool Foundation.

The resort can accommodate only 40 people at one time so you have to book well in advance. It's also not easy to get there because it requires a plane ride to Sorong and then a 4 hour boat ride, but I can tell you that is well worth it.

We stayed in one of their over-the-water cottages. The staff here is amazing. I'm not the most seasoned snorkeler in the world, but the snorkeling guides made it so easy. This is also a huge diving destination. You will be amazed at the coral and fish life that lies around the resort and within very short boat rides around the area. We took two trips a day and never traveled more than 30 minutes from the resort.

Did I tell you that the staff was amazing? The food is also incredible. Many people who we met had been here several times.

I highly recommend this destination.

Go everywhere once before going twice. Except. Misool. World class in every regard from diving to hospitality! Can't say enough good things.

Obsessed! This place is magic! I loved my days at Misool. The scuba diving was everything I wanted and more. I wanted to take days off diving because there was so many other activities to do, but could not. I could not imagine what I might possibly miss if I didn’t choose to dive. I stayed in a water cottage and it amazing, defiantly coming back because I’d like to experience south beach. There is defiantly no bad place to stay on the island. I’d say If you don’t want to do stairs try and stay in the front part of the island. The food was really good! I was actually surprised at how much meat they had (poultry, fish, beef). BUT, they always had veg options. Thankful for this place and thankful I got to experience it!

This resort is a piece of paradise.
Amazing placement among top dive sites. The service and housekeeping is better than at an upper end 5 star hotel. Because at Misool the staff truly cares. You can feel the joy and there is no fake friendliness anywhere to be found.
Requests are often fulfilled before you can think them. Amazing!
The whole operation with 5 (!) meals a day, diving, excursions, massages or daily activities work perfectly seamless and reliable like a Swiss watch. You should definitely try a scooter dive with Sabine! The earlier the better. It is not only super fun to scooter around the beautiful reefs it is also super fun to hang out with Sabine. For sure it won’t be boring and from every conversation with her I learned something cool. Your first dives won’t be at the best sites, although they are all awesome. After all we are talking about Raja Ampat here.: D
Oh, and the massage is on a completely different level to what you have known! Amazing! The best I ever got. Highly recommend.
The food is extremely delicious and the chef deserves very high compliments.
BUT there are a few things folks might want to consider before coming here. At least I would have liked to know before.
1. It feels like an US retirement center. Lots of people in there 60’ and beyond. The next younger couple after us was mid 40. This doesn’t have to be a negative point but cultural differences could sometimes be bothersome with no room to escape. I missed European people around my age (30’) or really any younger people around my age.
2. Privacy: The overwater villas are pretty open and you can see easily the whole terrace of your neighbors and hear when they use the bathroom. Not as secluded as advertised. But it is easy to tolerate in most cases. Unfortunately in one case not. One neighboring house would regularly have loud fights in the evening or sing very loud. This bothered us quite a lot while falling asleep. Solution: bring earplugs!
3. Food: Don’t get me wrong, the food is amazing! However, it is extremely unhealthy as every second dish is deep fried. All the other times a lot of oil is used. But you can request special adjustments. Don’t expect to loose any weight though. You’ll gain some kilos for sure.
4. Dive operations: Again, it is truly amazing how seamlessly everything works. Great job! However, there are a few points for improvement. Fist of all: The rinse sinks smell like toilets. I mean, just change the water more often please. Not sure whether the smell is related to point 1.but it really bothered me and there was an ongoing joke about the smell in our batch.
Washing/Rinsing of gear: The staff truly goes above and beyond to do everything for you. All the more was I surprised to find out that they do not rinse you bcd or second stage at all. Some of my equipment which I bought new got rust. Of course that is a divers responsibility, but it is good to know before.
Take your gear every night and rinse it (best change the water before you do).
5. Speak up about your wishes. You will be matched by diving experience and not by what you want to see. If you are fed up spending 60 min dives at 20 meters to look for critters, say it! Best to Sabine as some guides might misinterpret due to the language barrier.
6. Booking process. That one is maybe again related to point 1. But please just make a calendar available for booking online after you briefed the interested person. This back and forth to find the right dates was very tiresome.
7. Don’t expect to see many sharks. They are there but very shy. Best you visit the jetty at night after 8 pm. Or you snorkel.
Those are all points that came to my mind. Again: It is a truly amazing experience. Just check the points above and see if there is any red flag for you. If not, book it. You will have the time of your life!

Jadi aku kesini itu karena mendapat undian dari AQUA yang berhadiah trip ke Raja Ampat, seneng banget pokonya aku bisa ajak Mamah dan Bapa ku juga.
Jadi untuk sampai kesini membutuhkan waktu 4jam dari pelabuhan sorong menggunakan speed boat.
Kebetulan aku dapat kamar yang di selatan paling atas paling pojok pokonya, fasilitas lengkap ada AC nya namun saat menginap disini diingatkan untuk tidak memakai AC berlebihan, go green pokonya disini tuh bagus sih.
Sarapan nya lengkap menu nya variatif, menu nya unik unik juga, makan malam nya juga sangat enak.
Untuk wifi disini berbayar.
Disini bisa liat ikan hiu yang jinak gituuu, terus ikan nya juga berseliweran banyak banget, indah banget pokonya.
Staf nya juga sangat ramah" loh.
Semoga lain waktu dapat menginap disini kembali.

By far the best diving I’ve seen in 30 years of scuba. Cleverly and passionately protected reefs. A beacon of hope and a lesson to other dive destinations. The resort’s lovely too!

Easily one of my favorite people on the planet. Staff are incredibly friendly, facilities are beautiful, and of course the scuba diving is the best in the world.
